I’m a Nottingham based artist with a Masters in Textile Innovation which has allowed me to explore material manipulation and transformation whilst also self-developing my love for painting. My love for nature and the outdoors is my biggest inspiration and can be seen throughout my artwork.
My Painting journey explores colour more freely, exaggerating tones I see in animal's features often contrasting a bold background leading to eye-catching results. Playing with colour allows me to show the viewers the beauty in nature and in wildlife. Our strongest bond to nature and animals often begins with our pets, which is why I love to capture people’s furry friends both big and small in portraits. Painting peoples pets and incorporating their personalities on a canvas allows the owner to capture special moments to cherish every day.
My textile collections often explore our relationship with nature, how we can view it through different lenses (Perception), and how are actions today influence the environment of tomorrow (Nature, Body and the Garment). Within all collections I look to push the boundaries of material manipulation often using untraditional techniques or unconventional materials, with a focus on incorporating origami like methods and exploring the movement of fabrics.
